Understanding Anxiety & Overwhelm

Many women don't experience anxiety as obvious panic attacks or constant worry.

Instead, anxiety often shows up as overthinking, perfectionism, difficulty relaxing, feeling responsible for everyone else's needs, or struggling to ever truly slow down.

You may look calm and capable on the outside while internally feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck in a constant state of mental activity.

Many women describe feeling like their minds never fully turn off. Even during moments of rest, their thoughts remain focused on what needs to be done next, what they may have forgotten, or how to prevent something from going wrong.

Over time, this can become exhausting.

Anxiety can affect sleep, relationships, concentration, self-confidence, and overall well-being. It can also create physical symptoms such as muscle tension, headaches, digestive issues, fatigue, and a persistent sense of being on edge.

Many women become so accustomed to living in this state that they begin to believe it is simply part of their personality.

But anxiety is not who you are.

It is often a sign that your nervous system has been carrying more stress than it was designed to manage alone.

Therapy provides an opportunity to better understand the thoughts, patterns, experiences, and nervous system responses contributing to anxiety. Together, we can explore healthier ways of coping, create greater emotional awareness, and develop strategies that help you feel more grounded and present.
