Therapy FAQ | The Haven Therapy Studio
-
The Haven is a therapy-centered space that intentionally integrates nervous system regulation to support deeper therapeutic work. Rather than rushing in and out of session, this approach is designed to help clients feel settled, present, and able to engage more fully in therapy. The model of therapy + relaxation lounge + integration space allows for more meaningful, lasting growth.

Nervous system regulation is your body’s ability to move out of stress or survival mode (fight, flight, or freeze) and return to a state of calm and balance. When the nervous system is dysregulated, people may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally shut down. Therapy that supports regulation helps your body settle so you can think clearly, process emotions, and create meaningful change.

Infrared sauna supports relaxation by helping regulate cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone. The gentle heat also eases muscle tension, allowing the body to soften, unwind, and release stress. Infrared saunas have a multitude of proven benefits that will directly and indirectly impact your mental well-being: detoxification, heart health, muscle recovery, anti-aging, relaxation, immunity, sleep, and weight loss.
-
Red light therapy uses red and near-infrared light to support cellular energy, circulation, and nervous system regulation. This can help reduce physical tension, lower stress and anxiety, and promote mental clarity after a therapy session. By supporting the body’s shift out of a stress response, red light therapy helps therapeutic insights settle and integrate, making it easier to return to daily life feeling grounded and regulated.
-
The infrared sauna use after your therapy session is highly encouraged to get the most out of the therapy process, but not mandatory. The sauna is a way to support nervous system regulation and integration of therapeutic work by helping insights to settle and support a smoother transition back into daily life.

At this time, The Haven is a therapy-centered practice. Wellness supports are designed to complement therapy and are not offered as standalone services.

Therapy follows a simple, intentional flow: arrive and regulate, engage in therapy, and reflect and absorb your therapy work. Clients are invited to settle before therapy in the relaxation lounge and then take time afterwards in the integration room to promote lasting change.

The Haven is designed for women who are seeking more than symptom management. Many women who come to The Haven are insightful and maybe have already put in work in therapy. They often understand why they feel the way they do, yet their body still feels tense, overwhelmed, or dysregulated. Understanding why doesn’t always bring relief, especially when stress and past experiences are held in the body. The Haven is a good fit for women looking for a therapeutic space that feels grounding, thoughtful, and focused on long-term change not quick fixes.
